Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer will provide Quality Assurance and Quality Systems support for the manufacturing locations of the Switching and Fusing Business Unit. Additional technical support to be provided for Continuous Improvement and Customer Service within the Switching and Fusing organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Monitor, Audit, and Evaluate Production Processes

* Supervision and direction of Quality Technicians

* Create and maintain Quality Assurance programs throughout the Production Operations

* ISO Documentation and Revisions

* Management of Calibration Systems, Tooling, and Instrumentation

* Lead and / or participate in Problem Solving and Troubleshooting activity for electro-mechanical and mechanical devices

* CAPA

* Lead and participate in the Internal Audit program

* Support New Product Development activity including PFMEA, DFMEA, Quality Planning, Measurement Systems design and deployment

* Identify and address issues regarding Control of Nonconforming Material

Skills and Experience

Required:

* BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering

* Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

* Ability to perform Capability and Measurement Systems Analysis

* Demonstrable problem solving and product investigation skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills

* Experience writing and revising procedures, work instructions, forms, visual aids and etc.

* Experience working within an ISO 9001-2015 registered, or equivalently certified QMS

Preferred:

* Process mapping skills

* Documentation control

* Internal auditing/supplier auditing skills

* SAP proficiency

* ASQ Certification
