Calix creates and launches innovative cloud, software platforms, systems, and services to help broadband service providers get their communities connected with high-speed fiber broadband and deliver market-leading managed Wi-Fi services around the U.S. and the world. Our marketing and communications team crafts persona-based stories to show our customers (including many cooperative nonprofits across rural areas in the U.S.) how they can simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers, and grow their value.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager who is passionate about bringing fiber-to-the-home networks into rural communities. In this role, you will manage Calix's relationship with Conexon Connect and work within our sales team to drive, position and support their deployments across the United States.

Developing the strategy for the overall account team, you will lead the Calix team by maintaining existing account relationships and introducing new Calix offerings relevant to that customer and prospects. This includes managing the complete and complex sales-cycle, and ensuring Calix stays positively positioned within these accounts by growing revenue, locking out competition and uncovering new opportunities within each account.

Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of experience of quota carrying technology sales and account management experience

  • In depth understanding of Communications Service Provider (CSP) business

  • Track record of over-achieving quota (top 10-20% of company) in past positions

  • Comfortable and compelling both on the phone, and in the boardroom

  • Candidates must be competitive, cooperative, collaborative and work well with customers both internal and external

  • Must have a valid driver's license

Desired Experience:


  • Understanding of Service Provider networking

  • Experience selling into Tier 3 or Greenfield Solution Provider customers

  • In-depth understanding of Electric Co-Ops

  • Bachelor or University Degree strongly preferred

  • Regional Travel is required, approximately 50%

  • Remote-based position in the Greater Kansas City Area (Kansas or Missouri)
