Haskell is looking for a Senior Process Automation Engineer team member for its office in either Frisco, TX, Madison, WI, or Salt Lake City, UT.


We are looking to hire a Degreed Engineer with 8-10+ years of experience in design, programming, and commissioning of PLC-based industrial control systems. Our Packaging Team provides master planning, design, execution, and start-up services for packaging systems. Clients are manufacturers in the Food and Beverage; Beer, Wine, and Spirits; and Consumer Products market segments. Our Senior Engineer will provide engineering expertise and guidance to the Design Engineers, and will make sure that the project is technically sound, on schedule, and within cost.


The Senior Engineerwill be responsible for developing and implementing PLC and HMI software as well as the electrical design utilizing PLCs, instrumentation, valve controls, and motor controls while ensuring it is technically sound and meets project specifications and requirements. This person is expected to be capable of executing a project from beginning to end, including budget development and estimating, conducting plant surveys, proposal development, execution of conceptual design work, execution of detail design, programming, project management, and startup. In addition, the Senior Engineer will be able to manage a small team of automation engineers working under his/her supervision for both design and startup aspects of a project.

Responsibilities/Duties:



  • Develop and implement design standards

  • Assist in the development of process equipment specifications and line layouts

  • Attend client meetings and presentations as required by Project Management

  • Evaluating equipment requirements and procurement

  • Develop engineering data and electrical schematics for control panel designs

  • Maintaining project plans and schedules

  • Processing studies, coordinating project teams, establishing resource schedules and assigning work

  • Installation & start-up support

  • Direct the work of construction crews and service technicians, work with partnered/contracted engineers to establish a sequence of operation and control system architecture

  • Develop and implement an acceptance test plan for the equipment at the vendor's facility and for the installed system at the customer's facility

  • Provide technical guidance during controls systems installation and participate in start-up and commissioning of control systems

  • Ensure all drawings are updated at the completion of the project

  • Develop personal technical skills as well as those of co-workers


Education/Experience:



  • Degreed Engineer with 8-10+ years of experience in design, programming, and commissioning of PLC-based industrial control systems is required.

  • Experience in developing control system architecture including communication networks is required. Postgraduate training is desirable but not required.

  • Primary experience in the design of industrial control systems for food processing lines for large customers in the Food and Beverage market is desired.
