Accountable to the Chief Clinical Officer and project leads, the Clinical Director, SQI provides:
Clinical and technical expertise to support a variety of Systemwide Quality Improvement projects and initiatives related to patient safety, practice transformation and community engagement. Specific activities may include academic detailing, serving as a subject matter expert presenter, support designing quality improvement and system transformation projects, stakeholder engagement
Input and support to operational policies and procedures to appropriate project leads regarding clinical or technical issues, including coordination with other clinical experts as needed.
Representation as the medical contact between Comagine Health and clients, providers, facilities, medical associations, and professional organizations
Clinical expertise and community linkages to support business development opportunities
What you'll be doing for us:
Assists with delivery of SQI services
Participates in the strategic development of SQI projects, and the execution of such projects
Performs quality improvement consulting with different healthcare settings
Assists with the recruitment of health care clinics/providers into projects
Supports SQI teams on problem-solving by bringing to bear clinical experience and quality improvement expertise in health care settings
Participates in program development, review and evaluation
Provides clinical technical expertise for contract-related projects appropriate to the needs of the contract tasks
Accessible and courteous to staff members seeking consultation; works collaboratively with all staff members
Responsive to the needs of various contracts and project managers to provide technical and/or clinical expertise
Possesses an appropriate foundation of knowledge for consultation and other activities
Provides leadership in clinical outreach activities involving the relationship of Comagine Health to the healthcare community
Provides clinical quality improvement presentations when appropriate to specialty and audience
Represents Comagine Health as a senior leader in the community; provide local senior level visibility at specific meetings and events and participates in statewide meetings of clinical providers as a representative of Comagine Health
Maintains and further enhances stakeholder relationships through ongoing contact with key organizations, physicians, and others
Assists with the development of internal staff
Educates internal staff as needed in clinical areas, and/or quality improvement activities
Provides appropriate feedback to appropriate Directors and other executives about the performance of members of their respective team
Participates in all staff meetings when possible, and in contract-related and special project meetings as needed
Required Skills
What would make you a strong fit for our role:
Familiarity with QI methodologies and change management strategies in health care organizations.
Experience implementing QI initiatives in clinical settings
Expertise in regulatory, accreditation, and certification environment affecting physicians and health systems.
Experience participating with local/state health care agencies/ coalitions/professional organizations community-based organizations/and/or boards in the State of Utah preferred
Required Experience
Required Experience:
MD/MO in a related field
Current, active, unrestricted M.D. or D.O. licensure in Utah
8 years of clinical experience
3 years of managerial or supervisory experience
Current expertise in Infection Prevention and/or Substance Use Disorder medicine preferred
Primary care and/or hospital-based care, and exposure to multiple sites of practice are preferred
