Overall Job Summary

* The Revenue Cycle Business Analyst role is responsible for identifying trends and cash opportunities for accounts receivable, analyzing data for department metrics and special projects, and working with the Revenue Cycle Management Leadership to determine and implement solutions to meet and exceed department goals.

* This role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent follow through, and the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.

* Develop, test, document, and maintain business rules to drive automated processes in medical billing system

* Work closely with business leadership to understand department protocols to effectively add/update business rules

* Identify trends and cash opportunities for accounts receivable by collecting, organizing, and analyzing and present findings with leadership to drive cash and improve metrics and operational efficiency

o Identify gaps/updates to automated processes to reduce manual effort or streamline processes

o Perform research and root cause analysis of outstanding claims and provide recommendations for resolution

o Communicate issues that are preventing timely and accurate collections to leadership

* Compile information needed for leadership to make decisions and/or change existing processes

* Complete various ad hoc projects as assigned in the areas of process improvements, data research, and operational strategies

* Develop/maintain reports so leadership can manage workflows

* Develop/maintain metrics to measure the performance of representatives and the department

Other Duties/Responsibilities (list other performed duties)

* Have a working knowledge of the various functions within the Revenue Cycle department and the impact each function has on claims

* Assist with maintaining databases that drive workflow (e.g. collector payer assignment, reason code categorization, etc.)

Education and Experience Requirements

* Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.)

* Relevant Work Experience:

o At least 3 to 7 years of experience with Javascript and SQL

o Prior experience with Soarian Financials and EMUE preferred

o Medical billing and/or Accounts Receivable experience a plus

* Licenses/Certifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Knowledge/Abilities -Technical Skills:

o Excellent computer skills

o Strong technical experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access)

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy

o Strong data mining and visualization skills (e.g. Pivot tables, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

o Strong Javascript skills

o Strong SQL skills

o Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks according to business needs and seeking to contribute significantly

o Ability to work both independently and as part of an effective team

* Communication Skills (Verbal/Written): Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
