Job Description

Wanted: A high-energy, imaginative Visual Communications Intern to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia!

As the Visual Communications Intern you will:

• Join a team of highly knowledgeable, supportive professionals


• Have direct impact on supporting AMERICAN SYSTEMS' strategic plan


• Demonstrate your skills in a fast-paced role working on multiple projects

A week in the life of the Visual Communications Intern includes:

• Writing/editing communications for all-employee emails, press releases, company newsletter, web content, etc.


• Creating/modifying PowerPoint presentations to graphically represent complex concepts, or to simply provide more visual interest to a presentation.


• Developing concepts for advertising, social media posts, video, and other campaigns.


• Assisting in video production and video post-production.


• Maintaining and improving existing company assets, including website content, printed materials, etc.


• Assisting other departments with projects as needs arise.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma, pursuing college degree related to the media arts


• At least one year of Visual Communications experience


• Strong written communication skills and conceptual skills


• Solid foundation in design, layout, color, and use of typography


• Impeccable attention to detail


• Quick to learn and open to receiving critique and feedback


• Preferred Technical Skills: Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Photoshop; experience using Microsoft Office products
