Position Title: Shipper & Receiving Clerk

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining the movement of raw materials and in-process goods throughout the facility and maintaining related inventory records.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform billing receiving transactions as appropriate.


• Be capable of multi-tasking within the department. Cross functional responsibilities will include other duties as directed by leadership within the department.


• Capable of communicating with all lines of people, from material handlers on lines to managers inside this plant and sister facilities.


• Coordinate exchange of Kanban cards between departments.


• Load inter-company freight onto appropriate trailers scanning and entry of receiving.


• Scale count materials/use of scales.


• Maintain good housekeeping and safe work environment in all work areas.


• Ability to work with little direct supervision.


• Data entry/keyboarding skills.


• Work part shortage list daily.


• Check/verify and file receivers daily.


• Assist in picking parts for buyer to send to other plants.


• Work with receiving lead/supervisor in UPS and incoming.


• Prepare weekly chart of part shortages by area for all lines, using Microsoft Word and Excel.


• Track report of inventory sent to other plants and send to the Materials Manager on a monthly basis.


• Coordinate with person loading shuttle to get KanBan cards and container on each shuttle.


• Call in all daily LTL pick-ups.


• Process receipt of service parts and deliver to appropriate storage areas.


• Manage organization and pickup of returnable containers.


• Other Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager.

Position Qualifications

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Prior Shipping & Receiving experience is required.


• Prior forklift experience is required.


• Excellent computer skills.


• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.


• Must gain sufficient knowledge to fulfill the duties of this position within three (3) months of assignment.


• Ability to read, write and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.


• Good understanding of basic math, basic blueprint/specifications reading, and ability to use computer scanning devices and adjustable measuring instruments.

Preferred:

• Minimum 1 year stand up and sit-down forklift experience.


• SAP


• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
