Specialist, Accounts Payable at Lhoist North America in Fort Worth, Texas

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Process accounts payable transactions in an accurate and timely manner, with strict consideration of internal controls.

• Prepare and process accounts payable checks and wire transfer payments


• Review and process invoices and check requests


• Set invoices up for payment

Payment responsibilities

• Reconciliation of payments


• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date

Invoice discrepancy responsibilities

• Identify and resolve invoice differences and inaccurate vendor/pricing information


• Identify and resolve missing or incorrect purchase order numbers


• Respond to and correspond with vendors and plant personnel regarding invoice inquiries

Other accounting responsibilities

• Assist in month end closing


• Prepare and process 1099s

Work with information technology personnel

• Resolve programming problems


• Resolve accounts payable disputes

ATTRIBUTES:

• Familiarity with automated accounts payable system


• Knowledge of SAP computer applications


• General understanding of the purpose and mechanics of accounting


• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical ability


• Proficient in data entry


• Strong time management skills


• Cooperative and personable in a high-volume work environment


• Emphasis on human relations skills and problem solving skills


• Ability to handle vendor inquiries concerning discrepancies


• Work well with vendors and plant personnel regarding invoice differences, pricing, missing/incorrect purchase order numbers, etc.

Required Experience: 1 to 3 years of accounts payable and general accounting experience.

Required Education: Associates degree.
