Your Focus


  • Produce and disseminate the daily internal information vehicle that effectively communicates timely news
  • Supports the efforts to increase awareness of Responsible Gaming programs
  • Coordinate and write materials to be included in a broad range of communication vehicles including but not limited to printed newsletters, buzz planners, email messages, video, mobile, and presentations
  • Responsible for the coordination of company volunteer events and Go Green Initiatives
  • Responsible for the monitoring of information boards in the employee areas
  • Writes all print collateral, for Horseshoe Casino Hammond
  • Interfaces with various departments and planning teams to ensure accuracy and clarity of Internal Communications requests
  • Coordinates media relations and community relations projects
  • Maintains the design integrity of the Horseshoe brand
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned

Required


  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, marketing, or a related field
  • Heavy emphasis on writing or editing abilities; Social media expertise and experience with digital communications are helpful
  • One to two years of experience in casino environment preferred
  • Two to three years of working knowledge in computer programs, including Word, Excel, QuarkXpress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Keynote.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet stated deadlines
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written required
  • Strong computer literacy skills required
  • Ability to handle complex and emotional issues while maintaining confidentiality
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsible for a broad range of duties related to content and messaging, develop communications that may be delivered in many formats including via email, online, print distribution, video, or other mediums. Plays a role in social media campaigns. Often collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to develop communications goals and a messaging strategy, and then identify the best tactics to deliver that information. Goal is to educate, inform, and motivate the audience while supporting the organization's marketing objectives
