Description:

Provides complex administrative and secretarial support for unit director. In the absence of the director, all of the director's administrative duties and responsibilities will be carried on through the Nursing Business Associate. Position is a secondary contact for the off shifts, and has shared responsibility for maintaining visibility with them. This position requires preparation of confidential reports and financial data. Assists in administrative problem solving, program/project planning and development, and execution of unit/project goals. Carries out research related to projects and goals. Assists with fiscal administration for the unit including budget, grants, funding, and purchases. Actively participates in hiring and evaluation process. Analyzes budget reports monthly and prepares a summary analysis for director review. Participates in disciplinary actions and follows up with employees as requested by the director. Performs staff scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll and assures coverage does not exceed productivity goals. Coordinates and facilitates meetings, and or special events, as appropriate. Leads project teams related to nursing redesign. Duties include analyzing data, preparing reports, preparing presentations, answering and directing telephone calls, composing and typing correspondence, copying and distributing materials, mail processing and distribution, setting up and maintaining filing systems, and ordering supplies.
