General Description of Position:
Manages sales, account management, sales engineering and customer service activities of team members in an effort to achieve/exceed revenue objectives, organizational priorities, and deliver customer delight.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads sales team, sales engineering, and customer service teams to goal achievement through development and execution of sales/customer service strategies. Personally participates in sales and customer service opportunities, when possible, to move them along in the sales and service cycle and to build relationships with key customers/prospects.
Actively manages sales pipeline and sales activity to understand opportunities and actions necessary to move them to closed-won status.
Ensures adherence to company processes for investment in fiber/construction through business case process.
Maintains active involvement in the communities served in order to promote the Hargray brand.
Collaborates with other departments as needed to ensure reps are trained on all products and services offered including DCMS, advanced/complex data services, PRIs, WiFi, and traditional voice, video and data services.
Communicates effectively upstream and across departments.
Prepares detailed sales reports and presentations as required. Tracks sales results in order to accurately forecast, report, and pay commissions.
Maintains focus on customer retention and develops plans to drive contract renewals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Reviews market analyses and competitive environment to determine customer needs, pricing structure and discount rates.
Directs staffing, training, performance evaluations and provides regular feedback to team members regarding their performance opportunities for improvement.
Performs all other duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of department.
Bachelors’ Degree and 5-10 years’ experience of increasing responsibility in B2B sales with a track record of delivering strong results
Minimum of 5 years’ telecommunications and/or technology sales
Experience utilizing CRM to track activity and manage sales opportunities; SalesForce experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Capable of designing and implementing employee training and development
High level problem analysis and problem resolution skills
Strong customer orientation
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient use of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
