Summary:

Contribute to the full life cycle of software products in a fast growing software firm providing medical device software solutions into the healthcare industry. Emphasis is on verification & validation but involvement is throughout the product lifecycle in close collaboration with product development. Provide test expertise for new medical software product development and sustaining engineering. Develop automation scripts and plans to test against product specifications for mobile applications. The ideal candidate recognizes the value of effective testing that is traceable to specifications and is compliant with regulatory expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participate throughout the development lifecycle - building quality into products by developing V&V plans and writing test scripts against product specs

  • Execute regression test cases

  • Work with product development engineers to ensure that products are developed with test in mind

  • Help develop/strengthen the automation framework to be robust and sustainable

  • Develop automated test scripts that will test both web and mobile app versions of the Dexcom mobile applications

  • Verify defect fixes and develop tests to regress fixes and prevent future instances of bugs

  • Maintain strong customer focus

  • Contribute key knowledge and expertise to the overall product team

Required Qualifications:


  • Hands-on experience in Software QA with 1+ years of experience in developing test automation using mobile automation tools such as: Selenium, Appium, Cucumber

  • Hands on experience in implementing automation framework (keyword driven and hybrid framework)

  • Ability of writing and debugging scripted programs (Ruby or Python)

  • Experience working in Agile teams (2+ years)

  • In depth understanding of and experience with requirement analysis

  • Experience executing test cases and communicating defects and risks

  • Successful experience developing automated end-to-end system tests for products

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong sense of self-motivation, organization and attention to detail; strong analytical skills

  • Preference for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Medical Device industry experience preferred

  • Experience working within the FDA Design Control Process

  • Expertise in CI pipeline builds, preferably using Bamboo or Jenkins

  • Proficiency with scripting language, Ruby or Python.

  • Proficiency with Cucumber

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Master's degree and 0-2 years' equivalent experience.

Workplace Type:
  • The Workplace Type for this role is Flex. Based on the nature of your position you will be working onsite approximately 2-3 days per week from collaborative space and hoteling desks at our Dexcom sites. You will need to be located within commuting distance (typically 75 miles/120km) of your assigned Dexcom site.

Functional Description:

Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software. Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.
