Responsible for leading Prudential’s Architecture governance function decision-making frameworks and processes and promoting "IT as a business." Reporting to the Vice President of IT Operations, the Vice President, Architecture Governance is a member of Prudential’s global IT strategic planning team, charged with providing an Enterprise view of technology initiatives while ensuring efficient and effective delivery of business outcomes. The Vice President, Architecture Governance will facilitate strategic business-IT alignment through an integrated set of project portfolio management, planning, and technology architecture review processes. This role will direct, support, and enhance Prudential’s global architecture governance process, which integrates resources of the Chief Architect, CIOs, and other IT leaders to drive development of new technology standards, guidelines, and patterns, and facilitate the on-going assessment of new initiatives against future state technology architecture. This role necessitates a strategic, visionary approach to IT planning to foster the identification and implementation of new and innovative solutions. This position’s complexity is high as it seeks to align and support the diverse needs of Prudential’s businesses. 

This role includes the following:


  • Define, implement, manage, and support key global IT planning, portfolio management, and measurement processes in support of the Global CIO.


  • Manage consulting engagements and directly manage development engagements such as EARB System and Standards/Exception System.


  • Support the Architecture function through development of new initiative assessment, review, and reporting processes.


  • Foster and promote an enterprise view of technology standards, initiatives, and technology partners.


  • Drive the intake management process and represent Architecture Governance.


  • Define and implement external benchmarking programs.


  • Provide program management of planning organization activities including enterprise and technology architecture initiatives.


Qualifications


  • 10+ years in proven IT roles of increasing responsibility


  • Experience collaborating with senior business and IT management to drive business/IT alignment across a multiple business units in a multinational organization


  • Broad experience to drive effective Governance and Control frameworks implement, manage, and assess policy in a risk-adjusted framework


  • Proven program management success leveraging portfolio management, metrics, and executive dashboards


  • Demonstrated thought leadership and technology management skills with proven ability to identify, introduce, and drive innovation


  • Broad and extensive business management skills and knowledge


  • Experience in developing and governing full solution development lifecycle


  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)


  • Respected leader with demonstrated ability to influence colleagues at senior, junior and peer levels


  • Experience in forming strategic partnerships with technology and business partners in a collaborative manner


  • Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills


  • CISM and CRISC certifications


  • Privacy, GDPR, CCPA Experience


  • BCP, Vendor Governance, RCSA, Records Management, IT Risk


  • Extensive Enterprise Architecture experience in multiple industries (telco, finance, pharma)


  • Fraud Risk, Fraud Mitigation


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience
