As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading and contributing to key transformational programs: (Factory of the Future, Business Transformation, Data Analytics, Connected/Digital Factory).




• Lead the design and implementation of software systems that integrate with the upper level manufacturing and business data systems and the lower level control systems used to manufacture 3M products.




• Identify and lead process improvement projects for integrated systems, manufacturing, and reporting.




• Manage and administer system software to integrate the applications and databases




• Manage and lead site technical training of Workflow software.




• Create and develop functionality elements from key stakeholder requirements.




• Contribute to data automation strategy roadmap.




• Carrying out Quality Assurance and bug fixes as the need arises.




• Manage and administer the industrial computer security systems to meet 3M Policy

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering with an emphasis in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Science  (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution




• Three (3) years of Systems Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Passion for SMART Manufacturing, Data Automation to create value




• Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment




• Project leadership experience




• Savigent Workflow Software




• C# Programming with MS Visual Studio




• Database skills with SQL scripts and stored procedures




• SQL reporting tools skills




• Use of REST APIs




• UI development




• Experience with automation and/or robotics




• Self-starter, results driven behaviors




• Strong oral and written communications skills




• Five (5) years Systems Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Location: Columbia, MO

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
