Wound Care/Infection Preventionist Nurse for NHC Tullahoma
Full Time

NHC Tullahoma, a 90 bed post-acute skilled nursing facility is in need of an LPN or RN to serve as a Wound care/Infection Preventionist Nurse.  The qualified candidate for this position must have an expertise in caring for chronic and acute wounds in the geriatric population and be Certified in Infection Control.  

The Wound Care/Infection Preventionist will assess and evaluate patients with wounds and injuries, and ensure optimum patient care delivery in wound care nursing procedures.  He/she will provide preventative care to ensure infection does not set in and that other complications do not arise.  Education  and coordinating care with other health professionals is another important aspect of this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not be limited to:

• assisting with surveillance throughout the facility to promote infection prevention,


• ensuring adherence to infection control standards, policies and procedures, and


• reviewing and monitoring reporting data regarding facility acquired infections, treatments and control measures

The Wound Care/Infection Preventionist Nurse is a member of the 5-partner Nurse Leadership team. This person would also be in a 5-week rotation for weekend Clinical Nurse Manager on Call as well as at least a once a weekday/night on-call nurse in that same group.
