Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Safety and Environmental Engineer in our Chino, CA location. In this role you will ensure compliance to regulations in the all areas of Health & Safety, Environment & Facilities Management for the site.

What do you get to do in this position?


  • Develop and execute a pilot contingency plan for emergency situations- including risk & site impact assessments
  • Define, implement, and follow up energy reduction actions according to SE guidelines
  • Develop & maintain management system in health & safety & environment & Energy (ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ILO-OSH, OSHAS 18001...)
  • Propose local targets, action plans & resources according to Schneider Electric Safety-First guidelines.
  • Deploy SERE (Safety, Environmental and Real Estate) methodologies and best practices to promote a culture of safety first.
  • Manage the procurement, cost follow-up and productivity actions for PPE
  • Responsible for the overall security of the plant.
  • Responsible for training and development of all EHS teams
  • Perform incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and root cause analysis
  • Work closely with HR on Worker's Compensation and Ergonomist for ergonomic matters.
  • Corresponds with outside agencies, such as OSHA, EPA, Marsh, ENSR, local fire departments and safety vendors.
  • Implements and maintains the Chemical Management Program-including approval of SDSs, HAZCOM training, and Waste disposal.
  • Implements and maintains a contractor safety program including approving contractors, and performing routine contractor project inspections

This job might be for you if:


  • You have a Bachelor's Degree and 2-5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • You have the ability to originate new procedures and approaches to problems within an established field.
  • You are available to work on-call, nights, weekends, or non-regular hours- as needed to meet deadlines.
  • You have a working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, State and Federal safety rules and regulations.
  • You understand of workers' compensation and injury management.
