Job Description
Graphic Packaging International, LLC headquartered inAtlanta, Georgia, is a leading provider of packaging solutions for a wide variety of products to food, beverage and other consumer products companies. The Company is one of the largest producers of folding cartons and holds a leading market position in coated-unbleached Kraft board and coated-recycled board. One of its facilities is currently seeking a Production Planning Schedule/Backup Board Analyst.
The position is located at the Fort Smith, Arkansas plant, which is part of the Consumer Products Division producing sheet fed cartons.
Production Planning Schedule/Backup Board Analyst
Responsible for overall planning of raw materials to service the production operationswhile maintaining ideal inventory levels. To ensure that warehouse and, inbound shipments and transportation resources/activities support the required flow of raw material. Responsible for the updating of comments in the printingproduction schedule so the plant scheduler can have up to date accurate information for operations. Purchasing of raw material flow that supports the production planning strategy with the pallets and the corrugate. In addition, the position will provide support and primary back-up coverage for board analyst. This includes the raw material and finishing department supply inventory analysis and replenishment plan between off-site overflow storage and the mill warehouses.
Key customers include Production Operations, Distribution, Material Handling, Transportation, Quality, Customer Service. Extensive contact with customers within and outside of the facility requires in-depth knowledge of inventory, production and shipments to maximize service while minimizing transportation and manufacturing costs. Timely and accurate communication across multiple functions required to ensure consistent and efficient flow of inventory.
The work demands an in-depth knowledge of the corporation's and facility's affected transportation and flow planning in addition to inventory control and Warehouse Management System. Duties involve knowledge of desktop and mainframe computer systems including SAP and WMS in addition to transportation policies. Due to the nature of the work and GPIbeing a 24/7 production facility, the individual must maintain a high degree of flexibility. This job function entails a significant amount of contact with mill personnel and outside businesses in a coordinating or informational capacity. Therefore, the applicant must possess the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise, tactful and courteous manner.
