PACCAR Technical Center seeks a motivated engineer to join the Production Compliance team.The successful candidate will conduct On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and emissions compliance testing, support meetings with government agencies, and use their experience to help PACCAR navigate the challenging regulatory environment.
Engineers with experience in OBD, diesel engine emissions testing, and engine dynamometer testing will be highly valued.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Work to deliver on EPA and ARB production engine and vehicle test programs
Research and support acquisition of test articles and materials
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets
Coordinate and support dynamometer regulatory test activities
Manages and analyze OBD and emissions test data
Prepare regulatory compliance reports and supporting documentations
Provide project status and progress reports to project team, management and regulatory agencies
Support regulatory agency discussions and communications
Make recommendations for continuous process improvements
Keeps abreast of changing EPA and ARB regulatory requirements
Collaborates with U.S. and European engineering teams to build team knowledge, assure compliance, creates and maintains traceable documentation
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
Proficient in troubleshooting engine and aftertreatment systems
Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office proficiency required
Fluent in data processing and reporting for regulatory consumption
Ability to distill complex data into concise executive reports
Experience with ATI Vision, Vector CANalyzer, and Cummins Calterm preferred
Experience creating technical documentation
Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
Working knowledge of EPA and ARB regulatory emission requirements, regulations, and protocols
Experience working with EPA and ARB agencies preferred
Demonstrated curiosity and ability to self-teach
Must be self-directed with the ability to manage personal workload and schedule
Ability to travel, up to 5 weeks a year, both domestic and international
Education
BS in appropriate engineering discipline required, MS preferred
