Handyman

Job Description Summary

The Handyman is a position within the line of operations of C&W Services. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day tasks and performing a multitude of duties. On any given day, tasks could include typical handyman jobs, escorting vendors, supply stock management, transporting & unloading supply orders, sorting and delivering of mail, front desk coverage, performance of basic preventive maintenance on a wide range of equipment, day porter duties, set-up and breakdown of conference rooms, and assisting with basic general maintenance tasks.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs daily and periodic tasks in assigned areas as directed, such as patch and paint, basic plumbing, lamp replacements, basic mechanical skills and knowledge, facilities troubleshooting


• Maintains a neat and orderly work area, including janitorial closets and storage areas


• Performs all cleaning assignments in accordance with C&W Services' approved procedures


• Maintains cleaning equipment in good working condition, and notifies the Account Manager or Supervisor if repair or replacement is necessary


• Maintains appropriate supply levels in assigned janitorial closets and storage areas


• Works safely at all times and promptly informs management about unsafe conditions existing in the work area


• Wears personal protective equipment appropriate for the task being performed


• Meets all client and C&W Services quality expectations in assigned tasks


• Assists in orientation and training for new employees as directed


• Adheres to proper security procedures


• Notifies management about problems or opportunities that affect service to the client


• Performs other cleaning-related duties as required

Daily Rounds

• Rounds are to be performed twice a day (Morning & Afternoon)


• Requires you to walk interior and exterior of the building

Cafe

• Cafe Coffee Machine


• Refill coffee beans


• Open Machine


• Empty coffee grounds


• Refill cream, cocoa powders, as needed


• Please the Clean button on inside of machine


• Rinse powder line


• Do three (3) quick coffee rinse cycles


• Close machine and go back to main screen


• Restock tea, condiments, cups, lids, sleeves, plates, utensils, paper towels and napkins


• Run dishwasher at the end of the day


• Cleaning & sanitizing all surfaces and high touch points


• Assist Food vendor with restocking and cleaning of machines

Small Kitchen

• Keurig


• Wipe clean machine


• Clean and sanitize surfaces and high touch points


• Restock K-cups


• Restock tea, condiments, cups, lids, sleeves, plates, utensils, paper towels and napkins

Escort Vendors

• C&W vendors are to be escorted through the facility at all times. Vendors are not permitted to travel the facility on their own

Work Order System (Facility 360)

• 360 is to be checked frequently throughout the day for new requests


• Follow procedure directions noted in the work order, if any


• Make sure you perform your Utake5 steps


• Complete tasks as requested and in a timely manner


• No work performed until a work order has been submitted and/or approved by Facility Coordinator


• Preventative Maintenance (PMs)


• PMs are assigned via 360 and fall at the first of the month


• Monthly PM tasks include


• Fire Extinguishers


• Emergency Lights


• First Aid Kits & AEDs


• Trash & Recycling Dumpsters

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel


• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted


• Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience


• Ability to speak and read English is a plus and may be required by some clients


• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team


• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance
