This is a remote-based position located in Mississippi or Louisiana.
We are looking for dynamic, curious, motivated, and self-starting Senior Solutions/Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for pre-sales technical engagement with the customer, pivoting between credible technical discussion and distilling technical concepts into simple business language reinforcing the Calix value proposition, deliver compelling presentations, and build customer aligned network designs. In this role, you will interact with and influence senior technical staff and business management within Calix's telecommunications operator customers. You will provide demonstrations of Calix's product capabilities and assist with lab and field trials. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, experience in a pre-sales position, and confident in both technical and business forums.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales technical support of Calix's network solution
Assist in the preparation of RFPs
Deliver technical sales-oriented presentations to customer's technical staff and senior management
Understand business requirements involved with technical account strategy
Assist customers andresellers in configuring and testing products and networks in lab and field trials
Provide leadership and guide customers on technical and operational issues within areas of expertise
Work with customers to design and architect network solutions to their applications needs
Deep understanding of the product portfolio to apply the best solutions
Influence decisions and adept at simplifying our Calix technology concepts
Thought leader and influencer who is fluent in Calix technologies
Mentor and counsel to Calix colleagues and fanatics
Research and stay up to date on the most recent industry standards and trends
Qualifications:
BSEE/BSCS desired
Travel expectations: Up to 60%domestic travel
Technical familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access network architecture
Familiarity with Fiber and Copper based Access systems
Experience partnering with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement in product, education and training, testing methods, and demos
Strong interpersonal skills, a proven track record of synthesizing and interpreting complex issues into solutions and the ability to effectively work with multiple audiences and levels across organizations
Excellent presentation, written communication, and public speaking skills
Additional Considerations:
Deep understanding of SaaS and SDN based technologies
Mastery of Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 network architecture and design
Working knowledge of network management and orchestration platforms
Strong knowledge of operational and support (BSS/OSS) systemsandunderstanding interactions withAPIs (REST/JSON) including design, integration, and troubleshootingconsiderations
