Job Overview

This position is the lead technical resource and process development engineer for new and existing products and capital projects. These projects include implementing TE Connectivity most effective technology, defining incremental process improvements and developing new solutions to TE Connectivity. This person will lead the effort to develop and implement the appropriate process control and automation strategies for the medical device process equipment involved.

Essential Functions:
* Perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs.
* Analyzes engineering drawings, and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness etc. in the development of equipment, processes and products.
* Produces working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product, Pro-E and AutoCAD.
* Responsible for communicating time estimates and resource requirements on design tasks to the engineering manager and project managers.
* Review electrical requirements with respect to input and output devises and machine sequences with controls engineering.
* Determines tools, fixtures and equipment to be used in fabrication and assembly of mechanical components and complete assemblies.
* Select appropriate purchase component for mechanical assemblies and create requisitions with appropriate delivery dates.
* Examines project instructions and drawings to determine test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment and problems involved in designing, changing or re-arranging materials.
* Lead process team(s) responsible for new product development project execution according to agreed cost, quality, product performance and timetable requirements; prepares periodic status reports for management
* Researches available technologies with the objective of improving product quality, reducing cost or increasing capacity; develops sensible plans to evaluate, implement and then to audit the efficacy of completed technology improvement projects
* Developing equipment requirement and specification documents used in the RFQ process.
* Leads and implements process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)

What your background should look like:

* BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with focus on product development, mechanical/machine design and/or automated systems. MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
* Eight or more years of experience in various engineering fields relating to manufacturing, new product and process development, automation and equipment design.
* Experience with equipment validation, facility validation and IQ/OQ/PQ in an operating cGMP facility
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and public speaking; ability to represent the Company, when required, on matters that affect Company operations and/or its products
