SUMMARY – This position directs and oversees Productions department and customer service.  Responsibilities include manufacturing functions. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  1. Responsible for ensuring safe work practices of personnel, proper management of resources, proper quality of product and related services, implementation of best methods, facility’s performance and business objectives are achieved. 

  2. Ensure that production schedules and quality requirements are met.

  3. Develop and improve internal quality procedures and processes, including development of new sampling methods or implementation of error proofing to meet internal/external requirements.

  4. Develop, maintain, and manage strong relationships with internal and external customers through quality systems and processes.

  5. Responsible for implementing and driving TQM and TS16949 processes.

  6. Responsible for continual improvement within department including BIC indicators

  7. Work with customers, suppliers, sales and marketing, in developing manufacturing strategy, cost reductions and business planning and resolution of quality issues.

  8. Plan and coordinate new product launches, including all phases of AQP.

  9. Supervise Production Team Leaders

  10. Understand BIC Key performance indicators and develop and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed BIC 75

  11. Drive lean principles to reduce waste and implement 5S and Kaizens in department.

  12. Develop and execute training plan for new hires, and new Team Leaders

  13. Ensure all reports are completely accurately and on time

  14. Lead problem solving and Kaizen projects

  15. Audit to ensure standard work, quality and HSE procedures are being followed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Directly supervises  Production Supervisors who in turn supervise approximately 125 employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  1. College/University graduate with strong communication and demonstrable organizational and leadership skills, coupled with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment in the areas of Production and Tooling including at least two years at two supervisory level, or equivalent education and experience to perform the requirements of the position in a non-unionized JIT environment.

  2. Working knowledge of TS19649, TQM, and computer systems

  3. Supervisory/managerial skills including planning forecasting, problem-solving, conflict resolution, employee relations, leading delegating, working knowledge of production techniques, and cost center management including budgeting, cost reduction plans and automotive customer quality requirements.
