Position Description:
Under general supervision of the Quality Manager, performs quality control inspections upon receipt of products and during the manufacturing of parts, assemblies and systems; and provides support to the Quality Assurance Department.
Examines and inspects materials and finished parts and products for defects and wear and to ensure conformance with work orders, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:
• Inspects materials, products, and work in progress for conformance to specifications; conducts final inspections of parts before shipping to ensure they meet applicable specifications or drawings.
• Collects samples for testing; witnesses tests; records test results and inspection data; compares test results with specifications to ensure conformance to standards.
• Marks items for acceptance or rejection; prepares Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) and Failure Analysis Reports (FAR).
• Confers with suppliers and others regarding inspection results; recommends corrective procedures; compiles reports of results, recommendations, and needed repairs.
• Maintains Quality records.

Position Requirements:
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Knowledge of English grammar and spelling sufficient to keep detailed records, prepare accurate written reports, and read and understand technical documents.
• Ability to monitor processes, materials, and/or surroundings.
• Ability to evaluate a variety of information to determine a product’s conformance with specifications or drawings.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and maintain quality files and records.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing conditions and requirements.
• Generate, navigate and populate various Quality software programs
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles – Identifying and eliminating waste from business processes, bringing improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
Tools Used:
• Measuring equipment, such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, pins, etc.
• Inspection equipment, CMM and related software
