Your Responsibilities

As aRod Processing Engineerat John Deere Cylinder located in Moline, Il, you will provide manufacturing engineering support and basic troubleshooting for saw, heat treat, grind, polishing, and split for the rod processing operation.

• You will support automated saw, heat treat, grind, polish, and CNC lathe equipment/operation
• Support daily operation by responding to tactical safety, quality, efficiency, and machine issues
• Achieve CI200 targets for safety, quality, and efficiency
• Support projects to improve safety, quality, and efficiency through process improvements, tooling, and capital investments
• Back up manufacturing engineer support for nickel chrome electroplating operation

What Skills You Need

• 1+ years of Centerless grinding/polishing experience
• 1+ years ofInduction heat treat experience
• 1+ years of CNC experience
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Experience in a manufacturing position (academic/internship experiences acceptable)
• Effective communication skills(verbal and written)

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience in a Manufacturing position supporting a Union workforce (academic/internship experience acceptable)
• Nickel/Chrome electroplating experience
• Experience with John Deere Specific manufacturing software JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool), Ignition
• Experience implementing change in a production environment through negotiation and conflict resolution
• Experience with part nesting and yield calculation
• Demonstrated Project Management skills
• Experience with SAP functions, RECON, and other software tools (i.e. MS Office)

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology or equivalent work experience
