Milton CAT, the exclusive dealer of Caterpillar equipment in the Northeast has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant in our Milford, MA location. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as high levels of leadership and initiative. In this hands-on role, the Staff Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the Accounting Department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail and accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Staff Accountant's primary responsibilities include financial reporting, reconciliations, month end close, and general ledger work. The Senior Staff Accountant's main focus will be on the accounting and reporting of Machine Sales.

Responsibilities

• Analyze processes, recommend improvements, research potential technology solutions.


• Develop and implement process changes, workflow, or system improvements to ensure business continuity and compliance and be a catalyst for change.


• Proactively identify and implement efficiency opportunities.


• Complete month end close and financial statement preparation


• Manage monthly account reconciliation


• Confirm accuracy of balance sheet and income statements transactions


• Research discrepancies and manage through solution


• Leverage the technology of MS Dynamics ERP and Excel


• Lead strategic special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 or more years of experience in the accounting field.


• Public accounting experience a plus


• Previous experience with Project Accounting/Manufacturing desirable.


• Tech-Savvy (Microsoft Dynamics, ERP, heavy Excel skills, and MS Suite).


• Driven by resolution, order and detail with a high level of accuracy.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to manage high volume workflow.


• Champion of excellent customer service and possess a strong winning attitude.


• Work independently and as a team player.


• Innate curiosity to figure out how things work.


• Self-motivated and have leadership potential.
