Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in Brookfield, Connecticut, you will receive, store, disburse assemblies, parts, materials and supplies, etc. Perform various assigned duties having to do with the preparation, expediting and dispatching of shipments. Responsible for accuracy of inventory in assigned area.  

AS MATERIALS ATTENDANT, YOU WILL: 


  • Receive stock and distribute material and supplies, verifying quantity and quality using appropriate method (scale, hand count, visual, etc.), ensuring material free of damage and deterioration. Involves use of equipment (i.e. power saw, pump truck, crane, tow motor), hand tools and scales as required).
  • Ensure product is packaged in accordance with internal procedures and customer requirements using corrugated boxes, crates, Instapak equipment, etc. Ensure timely pickup and delivery, parts count, reconcile packing slip, as appropriate for; inspected parts, non-inventory goods, (i.e. customer returns, personal items, show equipment, repairs, copier paper and mail pickup including mailroom and DHL envelopes. Notify Buy/Planners of early shipments and quantity discrepancies including overstock situations, or receipt of obsolete material.
  • Schedule and oversee car and truck loading operations to ensure safe timely and undamaged arrival of product/materials. 
  • Responsible for completion, accuracy and maintenance of administrative documents 
  • Perform and/or assist in cycle counts as required to maintain required level of accuracy in addition to assisting in preparation and counting for physical inventory. 
  • Audit orders being shipped/received to ensure proper quantity and product, resolve discrepancies with vendor, carriers or originator. Ensure control of area, limiting unauthorized entry, withdrawals, receipt. 
  • Resolve discrepancies, complaints to ensure achievement of overall departmental and company objectives are met. 
  • Maintain order and cleanliness within area, adhering to all safety and security guidelines. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Experience in warehousing operations of receiving, shipping, storing, and disbursing materials.
  • General math, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Occasional heavy lifting utilizing material handling equipment and machinery operation required.
  • Position requires standing between 80% - 90% of the time.
