Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Will lead the manufacturing engineering team and functions to support high volume printed circuit lines including high speed, hi-volume automated lines. Prioritizes projects, ensure timely completion of projects, effective utilization of capital and overall continuous improvement. Will develop, implement, and audit methods and manufacturing processes to reduce product cost, increase productivity and capacity, and improve quality.

Nature of Duties:


  • Evaluates and solves production problems related to mechanized equipment, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.

  • Responsible for design and layout of high and low volume production lines for optimization and determines project budget and ROI of capital equipment

  • Responsible for providing preventative maintenance and ensuring all production equipment continues to operate with no down time while maintaining spare parts list

  • Develops implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

  • Evaluates customer equipmentfor process technologies.

  • Works with Production team members to produce the highest quality product

  • In depth knowledge and experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

  • Interfaces with Design Engineering (customers) in coordinating the release of new products.

  • Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

  • Work to improve the productivity and quality of PCB and Mechanical Assembly builds

  • Prepare DFM for customers, prepare formal DFM reports and communicate the design discrepancies to Creation's customers.

  • Troubleshoot process defects and drive toward problem resolution.

  • Attend quality meetings and drive quality issues for improved higher yields.

  • Design manufacturing processes and make MPI (manufacturing process instructions)

  • Participate in ongoing and new tooling, materials, or equipment qualification. Make recommendations based off findings and drive the implementation effort.

  • Participate in ongoing and new process improvement projects (could be cost, time, and/or quality driven). Make recommendations based off findings and drive implementation efforts.

  • Establish operating equipment specifications, improve manufacturing techniques and introduce new process equipment to production.

  • Interface with product design and development to ensure that processes and designs are compatible and support the DFT (Test) philosophy.

  • Will lead the Lean Six Sigma initiative

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's in Engineering

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills

  • Must have a minimum 10 years experience; preferably in Contract Manufacturing

  • Strong technical knowledge on SMT technologies and process development

  • Experience in profiling for curing oven (a must) and wave solder

  • Experience on quoting estimation for NRE's, process capability, capacity and technical knowledge

  • In depth knowledge and experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001:2015

  • Experience with FMEA, DFM, FBA, NPI

  • Experience with LSS and Project Management

  • Knowledge of Quality Standards (ISO, AS, TL)

  • Experience with ITAR

  • The ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.

  • Strong communications skills with employees, peers and customers.
