Summary of Position


Maintain correct stock levels on all merchandise in the plant's product line, supplies to support company pharmacy operations, as well as all packing and shipping supplies. Also includes receiving incoming materials from vendors, assigning it to the proper storage conditions, and working closely with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to ensure that material is placed in "Quarantine" until release. Match products with correct EWS order and then prepare order for delivery. Delivery includes driving either of the company's two vehicles and powered lift trucks. Material Handlers are also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of all requisitioned supplies.


Essential Functions


  • Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines and SOP's.

  • Ensure the maintenance of their department, premises and equipment.

  • Precise and proper maintenance of all filling, packaging, labeling, shipping, and sales transactions and records.

  • Receive incoming material; store it in the appropriate area.

  • Complete customer orders by identifying the appropriate material and quantity that is being requested.

  • Computer scanning of each order and each product is necessary to provide customer paperwork.

  • Rigid adherence to all regulatory mandates involving the handling and storage of materials dictates our procedures.

  • Documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials.

  • Printing receivers, EWS (electronic warehouse orders), bar coded labels, and applying such labels to incoming material.

  • Sustain records of all incoming and outgoing materials through computer transactions, which are done by both scanning and keypunching all exchanges. The billing of sales transactions and inventory reduction is attained through the manual keypunch of each customer order. Accountability of all inventoried items must be sustained at all times.

  • The filling of customer orders and the delivery of such orders involves the scanning of each system generated order and faed order.

  • Varied and supplemental duties include the driving and operation of a fork truck, the use of plastic and metal banding machines, manage a pallet jack, loading of tractor trailers, and knowledge of the OSHA and DOT regulations concerning these actions.

  • Balanced inventory of all stock. This involves several employees, physical balances, and a computer generated location list. The cycle counting task is an ongoing one.

  • Maintaining and operating the warehouse printer. This includes attaching priority shipping/delivery to each order which indicates the urgency of shipments. Orders are also edited for codes, dates, products, sizes, indexes, and customers.


Requirements



  • High School Diploma required; AssociateDegree preferred.

  • Experience in a related field preferred.

  • Fork truck and lift equipment experience is essential.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Professional telephone skills.

  • Customer Service oriented.

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.

  • A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred.

  • Some lifting of heavy objects (up to 70 pounds).

  • Accurate keypunching and computer skills are imperative.

  • Highly motivated/dependable individual who is able to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Able to get along well with a diverse workforce.


Working Conditions



  • Willingness to work in a team-based environment.

  • Close attention to detail required.

  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing duties.

  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.

  • Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.

  • Responsibilities also include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and climb stairs with orwithout accommodation.

  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination.
