JOB MISSION:

Responsible for the color approval process for trim. Collaborates with Development, Design, Product Managers, NBHK Material Team, QC & external suppliers to ensure color quality standards are achieved. Ensures that necessary reports are being executed and communicated for transparency to support business goals. Will also be responsible for achieving key calendar dates & deliverables including the Buy Ready decision gate.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Own and manage all trim color development & calendar deliverables. (Including New Balance, Team, Promo & US Military)

  • Initiate, review and approve all seasonal trim lab dips in collaboration with the Fabric lab dip approvals (including additional design requests).

  • Support the business by providing seasonal metrics for trim color approvals.

  • Creates seasonal Trim Color Palettes in AA.

  • Support ongoing effort to reduce liability by increasing lab dip approvals early in the development calendar, and reviewing SMS submits to determine possible use in production.

  • Maintain and update physical trim color library.

  • Own and update the trim supplier contact list in collaboration with HKM & Color and Trim Manager.

  • Ensure strong metrics are captured, including trim supplier turn-around time and number of submits needed to get an approval, for trim development, to complete vendor scorecard.

  • Investigate and resolve color issues that arise in partnership with QC and Production Teams.

  • Maintain the color equipment and the color lab.

  • Responsible, in collaboration with HK Materials team and Apparel Ops team, for Vendor Manual updates on Color Process.

  • Stay current on new color processes and technologies, and share this information with all cross functional teams as needed.

  • Other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS


  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles or Materials Sciences or Apparel Development. An advanced degree would be a plus.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Material Color Development.

  • Comprehensive understanding of fabric construction and performance.

  • Strong project management and communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to manage complex business issues and multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to develop relationships with key Business Partners and cross functional teams.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goals-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.

  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, etc.)

  • Experience in operating a spectrophotometer and related/ compatible software.

  • Some Domestic and International travel may be required as needed.
