Position Summary / Career Interest:
The pharmacist ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration, and drug therapy monitoring services. Monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate, and works with relating medical staff to find alternatives when needed, to ensure the best care possible is being given.
Position Description:
Receives and interprets medication orders and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles
Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records
Completes pharmacokinetics consults ordered during their shift determining medication dosing
Provides information and education patient/family regarding medications
Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners; suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Graduate of a School of Pharmacy (Pharm D or BS Pharm) accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
Licensed with the State of Kansas Board of Pharmacy.
Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general pharmacy services and adapting or modifying standards of pharmacy practices for care of specific medical cases

Coding Information (clinical information that is in (alpha) numeric format): ICD-9 Codes, Rev Codes, CPT Codes
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
