Position Summary

Provides high level Quality leadership and subject matter expertise for multiple regulated Quality Platforms: BCC Garments, Depend Garments. Serves as the coordinator and key point of contact to facility, business or staff teams for assigned large quality improvement projects, focused on interface between R&E and Manufacturing. Recommends and implements plans and projects that support business, team and/or organization objectives. Ensures compliance to established procedures and processes.

Provides high-level Quality/Regulatory leadership for the assigned Kimberly-Clark North America (KCNA) quality systems: Applied Statistics. Develops, implements, and improves standards and systems to deliver business results, routinely checking for compliance with standards, and providing training to customers/stakeholders.

  • Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations, such as GMPs and ISO requirements

  • Ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed as applicable

  • Performs production and quality systems audits

  • Maintain and demonstrate a high degree of knowledge and skill in product forms, quality systems, processes, and regulations

  • Establish and maintain good customer rapport, while driving solutions to meet business needs. Develop and maintain a strong spirit of partnership

  • Conduct all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity. Communicate fully with superiors, teammates, and others who have a need to know

  • Executes continuous improvement activities for established processes and initiates/supports development of new processes

  • Builds and maintains capability in QMS, ISO, and GMPs to support objectives

Position Specific Accountabilities


  • Act as the coordinator and key contact

  • Provide back-up leadership/support for other BCC and Depend Platforms as needed

  • Initiates and follows up on manufacturing-related CAPA and QNC for BCC and Depend Garments

  • Identifies need for, develops, and executes continuous improvement plans for manufacturing within the BCC and Depend Garments platform

  • Builds and maintains capability within the BCC and Depend Garments platforms for compliance with the Kimberly-Clark QMS-R, 21 CFR 820, and other applicable regulations and GMP's

  • Provide Quality Management support to BCC and Depend Garments mills and project teams in response to escalated quality issues, including facilitating CAPA, writing protocols, and developing statistical sampling plans

  • Leads implementation of new quality standards and systems to meet business objectives, as part of medium- to large-scale projects

  • Provides guidance for one or more quality systems (Applied Statistics) making decisions on changes to standards, auditing system users (including Quality, R&E, Manufacturing Sites, and other Enterprise functions) for compliance to standard, training users on the standard, and supporting targeted implementation as needed to deliver business results

  • Initiates and follows up on CAPAs related to the assigned systems

  • Identifies need for, develops, and executes continuous improvement plans for assigned systems

  • Takes leadership of, or supports, the development and deployment of strategic quality management plans, initiatives and measures for assigned systems Works with Quality Leaders and other Functional Leaders such as Research & Engineering to build Applied Statistics capabilities at all levels of the organization to ensure sustainable quality results

Scope

This position reports to KCNA BCC Quality Snr Manager and primarily supports BCC and Depend Garments, but also works cross-functionally with the AFC and Family Care Quality teams, and the supporting KCNA teams (QMS, Design & Risk, Supplier Quality Management). Leads moderate to large sized projects. Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction, but collaborates with stakeholders to deliver results.

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related discipline and 8+ years of broad experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, Research or Regulatory function

  • Requires prior leadership experience with medium-sized projects or systems. Knowledge of Medical Device requirements is required

  • Experience should include close working relationships with Manufacturing and Research functions, and technical quality skills in at least two of the following areas: CAPA, Applied Statistics, validation, Computer System Validation (CSV), change management, design controls, gage R&R, and/ or demonstrated application of LEAN/ Continuous Improvement skills

  • Travel - Up to 25%
