Job Description

Hunt Energy, L.L.C., a privately held company engaged in varied energy related businesses around the world, is seeking a full-time attorney to join our in-house legal team. The position will focus on delivering legal services in support of the efforts of existing legal team members, directly to the various asset and operational teams and general corporate needs. The candidate should be well-versed in mergers, acquisitions and partnering transactions, contract drafting, negotiating business transactions and providing advice and guidance to business teams and senior management.

Responsibilities:

• Work in support of existing legal team members on all aspects of various contractual, partnering and asset matters


• Provide advice on transactional matters for various asset groups in the energy space


• Be a trusted legal advisor as part of the business teams' efforts to establish, evaluate and expand new business initiatives and technology development


• Assist business units in developing intellectual property protection strategies


• Draft, review and negotiate strategic partnering, asset purchase and merger agreements, master services agreements, license agreements, term sheets, easements, and other documents

Required Experience

• 2+ years of experience in corporate or transactional practice at recognized law firm


• Licensed to practice law in Texas


• Experience in venture/early stage business transactions is a plus, but not required
