Job Description



The Commercial Agent for the Edgewood Office will manage sales orders from confirmation to site delivery. The role is multi-faceted and requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The incumbent must possess an assertiveness to drive to completion along with the ability to multi-task. Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize projects in-line with overall business objectives.







Duties & Responsibilities





  1. Manage sales orders as related to the Smiths product-line in alignment with established processes.

  2. Monitor deliverables status to ensure on-time delivery to customers' site

  3. Plan delivery schedule, conduct site readiness and make adjustments to stay compliant

  4. Book international and domestic freight with approved carriers

  5. Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain for accuracy of planned material production

  6. Consistent and thorough follow-up on deliverables to ensure timely delivery

  7. Track order progression to completion of each deliverable and certify revenue requirements are balanced with customer requirements

  8. Update SAP as required with information inclusive of delivery, billing and service related data

  9. Inform/Consult with Invoicing department to ensure timely and accurate invoice closeout

  10. Communicate order status and/or discrepancies to customers, partners and stakeholders from around the Globe

  11. Prepare, manage and manipulate reports via Excel and SAP as directed or required

The Individual




  • Education: Bachelor's preferred, high school or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Logistics and ability to manage multiple shipments

  • Knowledge of Incoterms - International Commercial Terms

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Knowledge of SAP (ERP tool) a plus, but not necessary. Will accept knowledge of other ERP system.

  • Experience in a Customer Service or Customer facing role a plus

  • Customer focused and willingness to perform tasks outside of job scope

  • Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Internet and SAP

  • Bilingual a plus

  • Strong communication and problem solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Team Player and a can-do attitude a must
