Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining and setting up equipment and process solutions in plating area. Ability to operate all processes and generate the appropriate documentation, records, and reports. Support quality, engineering, and manufacturing as needed.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Plating technicians report to the Plating Supervisor, and also support engineering, quality, and manufacturing as needed.

Essential Functions:
-Tank analysis per schedule
-Monthly qualification by tank
-Tank maintenance
-Solution make-up
-Production plating as time permits
-Plating PM
-Maintain tank chemistry inventory
-Maintain lab equipment & chemicals
-Support ISO maintaining ISO documents and procedures
-Troubleshooting plating problems
-Maintaining chemistry logs
-Annual completion of RCRA hazardous waste training
-RCRA hazardous waste management and handling
-Chemical awareness and safe cyanide handling awareness

Qualifications:
High school diploma. Minimum 2 years plating experience. Basic knowledge of electroplating theory and chemistry. Ability to troubleshoot plating problems. Good leadership skills a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Good computer skills. Trained First Aid First Responder a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize workload. Strong communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Experience in visual inspection for plating defects. Able to discuss technical problems encountered with manager and engineering. Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills. Ability to use the computer for finding work instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, use hands to operate a computer and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
