HOW YOU WILL DO IT

As the site Quality Management Representative and a member of the site leadership team, the Director - Quality will establish the strategy for the site to achieve Zero Defects and lead the operational quality assurance, supplier quality and QMS/regulatory teams to ensure the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Job Accountabilities:


  • Drive towards achieving Zero Defects by establishing the strategy for the site Quality Team to ensure products manufactured meet or exceed customer requirements and applicable regulatory or international standard.

  • Lead the operational quality assurance, supplier quality and QMS/regulatory teams to establish a quality roadmap for the continual improvement of manufacturing operations and supply base to improve quality, cost and delivery of customer products.

  • Establish strategies to align quality processes, organizational capability and culture to consistently meet or exceed customer needs. Must be able to build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Ensure all employees prioritize quality through the adoption of the quality policy and advancement of the Quality Begins with Me program.

  • Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Additional Accountabilities:


  • Develop, lead and monitor objectives, goals, strategies and measures for the Quality teams. Establish efficient processes and systems to track and report status of initiatives to include resources, projects, savings, etc. Lead development and adoption of performance monitors to achieve product quality goals.

  • Ensure the successful completion of external customer, registrar or other certified body audits.

  • Develops and leads site product and process quality improvement using function- appropriate tools (i.e. CAPA, audit, etc.).

  • Ensure site compliance to applicable quality control processes (i.e. calibration, ESD, MSD, etc.).

  • Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 10-20%).

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications:


  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree is required. An MBA or similar post-graduate degree is preferred.

  • Professional progressive experience of eight (8) years is required for this position, assuming educational background is met. A minimum of five (5) years of industry experience is also preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.


Other Qualifications:


  • Displays Plexus Leadership Values and Competencies as applicable.

  • Advanced knowledge and implementation experience in applicable QMS standards and regulations (i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100, FDA QSR, etc.).

  • Advanced knowledge in applicable industry standards (IPC, J-STD, etc.).

  • Capability to assess, manage, develop, and mentor Quality organization personnel within the site and the ability to mentor and coach other Quality site leaders within Plexus.

  • Knowledgeable in Lean and Six Sigma concepts and tools.

  • Expert communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledgeable in data analysis tools.

  • Strong cross-functional team building skills.

  • Ability to lead and multi-task in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to quantify and assess benefits/risks of process improvements.

Work Environment:

  • The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
