Job Description:

Graphic Designer

About SketchUp

SketchUp is one of the most popular 3D modeling and design tools in the world. Today, hundreds of thousands of architects, engineers, contractors, woodworkers, artists and other creatives use SketchUp Pro, LayOut and 3D Warehouse to design everything from transit centers to treehouses and everything in between.

About the role

We are looking for a Graphic Designer that can create stunning graphics for a wide range of projects that support SketchUp's Marketing team. In this role, you will coordinate with internal and third-party teams to design and maintain visual consistency across assets that promote SketchUp's products and brand to customers worldwide.

A passion for the brand and compelling visuals is key, as this role requires producing high-quality production assets across multiple marketing channels. The successful candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail, an ability to bridge the gap between SketchUp and other design softwares, and an excitement to help SketchUp's brand flourish. This position is based in Westminster, Colorado and reports to the Senior Designer.

Responsibilities and projects include:

  • Graphic design production work across SketchUp's core marketing channels: web, email, social media, events, print, and sometimes socks!

  • Create graphics for print materials such as booth design, handouts, swag, and beyond!

  • Provide production support for in-product graphics in each new software release.

  • Production assistance to develop, deploy and maintain our brand standards both externally and internally.

  • Work with external vendors to maintain brand standards and ensure solutions are being created at a high level.

  • Work with third-party vendors to implement larger graphic projects for trade shows, events and marketing campaigns.

  • Help foster design culture in the greater organization.

  • Assist in the creation of internal templates for social media, presentations, swag and other collateral.

  • Be the brand's advocate and always be pushing the creative boundaries of our marketing.

  • Participate in sales, support, business and product meetings when appropriate.

Skills & experience required:

  • Degree in visual design, fine arts, web design, architecture or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in a design-related field.

  • An eye for detail and an ability to produce high-quality, contemporary graphics.

  • A self-motivated, passionate designer with a well-versed understanding of digital communication, marketing and business practices.

  • A multi-faceted person who craves diversity in his/her work; and a professional with a strong ability to manage multiple projects at once.

  • Well versed in typography, color theory, layout theory, and developing style and usage guidelines.

  • An excellent communicator capable of presenting your ideas to the Senior Designer and the larger Marketing team.

  • An organized, result-oriented and self-motivated team player with drive and ambition for yourself, our users and the team.

  • An expert with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere), an experienced user with the Google Suite and a working knowledge of SketchUp.

  • A self-starter with a passion for creating original artwork and working collaboratively with other designers.

  • Excellent at self-managing priorities and timelines for multiple creative tasks simultaneously.

  • An openness to (and willingness to provide) constructive criticism, and a critical eye for one's own work.

In addition to a resume, please submit a web link or PDF portfolio of recent work that you have produced in previous roles (or for personal interest). We're especially interested in original compositions that establish your level of proficiency in a given design medium.
