Job Description

Danfoss is offering you an excitingcareer opportunity as a Lead Process Engineer in our Tallahassee location. The Lead Process Engineer is primarily responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring a small team of engineers that focuses on daily execution of the business. This position will lead continuous improvement activities aimed at improving execution through deploying industry standard best practices to advance business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Job Responsibilities

* Responsible to lead, grow, and mentor a team of 3-5 engineers within manufacturing engineering

* Willing to be a hands-on engineer who leads by example, shows strong technical ability, and good communication skills

* Analyzes existing operating methods and initiates and develops continuous improvement activities to improve cost, reliability and quality of products and processes

* Incorporate principles of 5S in daily working routine and support 5S activities throughout the facility

* Other duties as reasonably assigned

Background & Skills

* Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering required, Master's degree preferred

* 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering, high change and complex production environment required

* Experience with Lean manufacturing practices and good knowledge of contemporary systems and techniques like Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement (e.g. Kaizen) required

* Experience in industry standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949) required

* Ability to read, interpret and comprehend engineering prints / assembly drawings / BOM's required.

* Experience in cost initiatives with budgets and cost adherence

* Skilled in CAD modelling Software

* PLC and automation experience strongly preferred

* Strong project management skills

* Strong Interpersonal and presentation skills with a diverse group of colleagues

* Strong skills in data analysis and root cause definition

* Some experience with training needs assessment, design and delivery

* Experience in Mechatronics industry preferred

* Familiarity with SAP ERP concepts

* Strong skills in process control and documentation

* Must be able to excel in a cross-functional, team-based structure
