Job Description & Accountabilities

The Director leads, creates and implements commodities price risk strategies for the purpose of helping the company manage commodity risk within its supply chain. The following commodities are within the scope of responsibilities for this role: Wheat/Flour (HRS, HRS, & SRW) millfeed and basis, Eggs (Corn & Soybean Meal), Soybean Oil, Palm Oil, Domestic Sugar, World Sugar, Cocoa (Beans, Differentials and Ratios), Butter & Diesel Fuel, other ingredients. This position is strategically important to delivering Procurement's cost of goods budgets within stated annual goals and objectives, and is critical to the price stability of finished foods.

Responsibilities

• Develop hedging strategies to cover market exposure across all commodities with the goal maintaining even positions.


• Facilitate hedging strategy discussions with VP of Procurement, CFO/CEO, and other cross-functional leads as required in order to communicate risks, coverage, and commodity positions and targets.


• Become trusted advisor to VP Procurement, VP Commercial Finance, and CFO on Commodities Markets.


• Communicate all approved hedging strategies to suppliers and track coverage by commodity, customer, raw materials, and revenue channels.


• Work with Procurement Category Managers to update and maintain Commodity Coverage File and update as needed based on timing of incremental coverage.


• Train new and existing Category Managers on Commodity Markets, Strategies, and Outlook.


• Advice Category Managers on non-board traded ingredients market outlook.


• Host monthly and ad-hoc commodity and business updates with key customers across Food Service, QSR, and Retail channels. Develop all supporting documentation, spreadsheets, and slide deck presentations.


• Support ongoing customer pricing updates across all customers and spend categories.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or Accounting preferred.


• 10+ years of related Commodities Risk Management Experience.


• Advanced communication, problem solving and research skills.


• Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.


• Experience in commodities market intelligence software, including ProphetX, Bloomberg, etc.
