Objective


Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company has immediate openings for our Manager in Training (MIT) program. This MIT program is best suited for recent college graduates that are seeking a management career in the construction and home improvement industries. The program will position you into our management career path, allowing you to build your own future with FG. The training program will be 12 months in length, comes with both hands-on and online interactive training, one-on-one training with some of our best General Managers and Operation Managers, and is a fast track to become a future manager as opportunities become available across our distribution, home center, and manufacturing operations. Throughout this program, you will become accustomed to the essential duties and responsibilities of our operations and gain knowledge about company policies and procedures. Once training is complete, you will need to be open to relocation to any of the five states that we operate in as positions become available.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following are the essential duties and responsibilities of the Job. Other duties, responsibilities, or tasks may be assigned as required by management.



  • Successfully work through the Manager in Training program in a timely manner.

  • Help to optimize sales and profits at the assigned operation.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers while providing quality customer service through personal interaction.

  • Promote awareness of the Company and its products and services.

  • Maintain and merchandise inventory, property, and equipment to ensure the Company's assets are adequately protected.

  • Develop and train to maximum potential through regular coaching and training from the RVP, General Manager, and Yard Operations Manager/Store Operations Manager.

  • Learn, understand, and utilize FG's policies and procedures, Operation Manager duties and responsibilities, and become well-versed in FG's software systems (BisTrack, UKG, etc.).

  • Attend and participate in all Company-sponsored training programs as required.

  • Perform any other duties, responsibilities, or tasks as assigned.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Education and/or Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

  • Previous experience in retail or building industry is highly preferred.


Qualifications



  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and the ability to read engineering drawings.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percents.

  • The Associate must have a valid Driver's License issued by the state of residence and acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to solve practical problems, deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
