Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for aVocational MarketingManagerbased out of our Division office located in Denton, Texas.The Marketing Segment Manager - Vocational sets the strategic vision for branding, product positioning and marketing strategy in the Vocational segment through a comprehensive understanding of Peterbilt products and customer needs. This position also provides sales support, participates in industry activities and closely collaborates with a broad group of stakeholders to champion initiatives. It is critical that this individual is passionate and an excellent communicator with good product knowledge to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Job Functions / Responsibilities


  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans for new product launches and current product promotion

  • Conduct market segmentation studies and identify growth opportunities, as well as marketing and sales actions to achieve them

  • Conduct market immersion studies and provide voice of the customer feedback to internal stakeholders across the organization with key focus on developing recommendations for product enhancements

  • Develop sales resources such as competitive comparison guides, presentations and reference material

  • Support sales initiatives through direct customer interface, product content/pricing recommendations and product training

  • Author high profile and review all relevant Trucks Sales Bulletins

  • Conduct seminars and webinars for external audiences such as body builders, dealer sales and media

  • Participate in product development activities including the Product Creation Process and design reviews

  • Participate in customer and industry events including coordination of relevant show themes and product displays

  • Up to 35% travel required

Skills / Competencies

SKILLS:


  • Strong business acumen

  • Superior written and oral communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to large audiences.

  • Good technical product knowledge

  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and prioritize and manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines with enthusiasm and without jeopardizing quality


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • B.S/B.A. Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration or related field required. MBA preferred.

  • Three to five years product experience in the trucking industry or related field

  • Proven ability to work in a team oriented, multi-functional business environment with demonstrated leadership skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
