The Rawlings lab has an open position to work on human primary T cell gene editing and functional analysis for treating immune deficiency diseases.

The successful applicant will work in a fast-paced team environment to develop translational gene editing approaches and cell therapies to restore immune tolerance. Overall responsibilities include:

  • Work with team lead and members to plan and execute experiments and adhere to project timeline.
  • Follow detailed experimental protocols and trouble-shoot.
  • Perform experimental procedures including but not limited to viral vector cloning, cell subtype isolation, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, viral transduction, tissue culture, generation of engineered cells, molecular analysis, multi-parameter flow cytometry, ELISA, in vitro functional assays, animal models.
  • Document observations and data, analyze results, interpret experimental outcomes, maintain detailed and organized electronic data record, and present results in lab meetings.
  • Assist others in the laboratory and help maintain a constructive laboratory environment.
  • This position is ideal for one who is highly motivated and proactive in learning and growing skillsets to prepare for education or career advancement. Great communication, team work, organization, interpersonal and creative thinking skills are a must.

    Requirements

    Required Education/Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in biology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology or biochemistry. - Prior experience in a laboratory setting. Required Credentials: - N/A Preferred: - Research experience performing molecular biology techniques, cloning, cell culture, flow cytometry and/or animal models.
