Transportation Project Engineer - Highway/Roadway

Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Transportation (Highway/City Street) Project Engineer for its New York, NY office. The team player we seek must have a BS/MS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering and 4-7 years of design experience on NYSDOT, NYCDOT and NYCDDC projects or similar public agency/municipal projects. The candidate will be responsible for production of design plans, project specifications and report preparation.Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact in a project design team environment is essential. A PE license in NY and AutoCAD/MicroStation experience is required; Civil 3D and InRoads is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assigns tasks to and coordinates with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
• Assists Project Manager with PM duties


• Lead elements of design such as alignments, WZTC, Drainage, etc.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering


• EIT is preferred


• NY State PE is a required


• 4-7 years experience in transportation, highway and street design, or closely related engineering field


• 3D design experience is preferred (InRoads and/or Civil 3D software).


• Experience in the following technical areas: Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation


• Excellent interpersonal skills.


• Local Experience is highly preferred.


• Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
