The UHD wrestling head coach is responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of Sports & Fitness. The individual will be responsible for coaching the wrestling club team for UHD.
DUTIES
Coordinate and conduct wrestling semesterly tryouts for the UHD wrestling club team
Schedule and conduct preseason training/ competition preparation by offering 2-3 weekly practice sessions for the team to include functional, endurance, and skill-based training
Plan and effectively communicate drills and sport appropriate techniques
Consulting with wrestling club officers with maintaining an annual calendar/schedule to include practices and meets
Be a vigilant presence and leader at teams' competitions to include showing up early, coordinating pre-competition activities, arrange line-up based on fair yet skill-based criteria, motivate and coach teams throughout the competition, and conclude activities with a post competition meeting to recap strengths and weaknesses
Serve as an advisor and resource to wrestling club officers on scheduling and planning fundraising efforts for summer camps, local/regional/national competitions, and other financial needs of the club
Enforce and maintain appropriate safety standards and procedures associated with the sport of wrestling
Attend a monthly meeting with the Sports Coordinator to discuss the progress and future plans of the team. Respond as needed via email and telephone calls for day-to-day needs

Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 Years experience in wrestling 1-3 Years experience as a wrestling head coach CPR & First Aid Certification
