Job Summary

The VP, Product Management will develop and execute the marketing strategy behind products and product lines and drive marketing initiatives that establish business standards and competitively position the company's products in the marketplace

Essentials Functions


  • Collaborate with customers, team members, and outside influencers to identify and drive the entire vision and delivery of innovative new products/product lines to keep the business relevant and competitive. Implement goals, objectives, and work standards for the department

  • Determine and conduct market research to identify user need for new products

  • Execute strategic plans and prioritize product opportunities using criteria and requirements defined during research

  • Clearly communicate vision and goals of future product lines

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements. Define high level customer requirements for the entire customer experience including product features and functions, target markets, and pricing

  • Develop metrics to assess the success of products and features and determine necessary enhancements

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of a wide range of products, solutions, and company offerings

  • Lead and participate in strategy and long range planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on direction of product vision

  • Execute the product roadmap by providing direction to the product development team for product evolution and priorities, ensuring that the experience gained from external market activities, usage analysis, competitive response, and market research is reflected in future product releases

  • Understanding of metrics/dashboards that drive an environment and culture of continuous improvement

  • Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of department operations and will impact Company operations

  • Interacts with Executive (internal and external) Management on strategic issues requiring coordination across functional unit or group lines

  • Explains difficult information and convinces internal and external management to take action or grant approval

  • Manages customer relationships and resolves high-level issues/problems

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used


  • Demonstrated competency in creating and executing on strategic plans

  • Proven track record of leading large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and driving organizational change

  • Demonstrated success with meeting the needs of a wide range of employees while driving team performance, monitoring results and appropriately allocating resources

  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the successful execution of multiple complex projects

  • Strong experience and knowledge of functional tools and infrastructure

  • Progressive experience in leading employees in multiple locations, and significant experience developing and implementing solutions

  • Possesses strong problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills

  • Results oriented with strong time management and project management skills, and must be highly organized and driven to succeed

  • Strong leadership skills, leading by example, driving employee commitment through actions, and empowering employees to reach their full potential

Typical Education


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • 12+ years experience
