Position Summary:

The Senior Advanced Process Engineer is responsible for interfacing with several facets of the organization to define and drive Engineering processes that enable efficiencies within the engineering team.  This will include but will not be limited to specifications, requirements gathering, conceptualization, feasibility studies, fabrication, integration, testing, documentation, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead the FTS program engineering teams together with principle engineer in working with COC, Core Hose and operations teams to manage, launch and evolve FTS products.


  • Identify RFQ key dependencies and risks, and partner with cross-functional teams to get these resolved.


  • Ensure all customer specifications and requirements are met


  • Review and assist in updating engineering design standards


  • Interpret internal or external business issues and recommend best practices


  • Technical interfaces with the customer, design, manufacturing plants, laboratory, sales, program management, purchasing and suppliers


  • Solve complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions


  • Participate in technical trouble-shooting and root cause analysis utilizing KT, 8D, or other structured corrective action/ decision making to assure timely and permanent problem resolution


  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions


  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description


Education and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering is preferred


  • Typically has seven plus years of experience


  • Ability to lead functional teams and products with moderate resource requirements, risk and complexity


  • Proven planning, organizational and negotiation skills for effective team management


  • Ability to detect project risks and build contingency plans


  • Knowledge of product designs and functions to actively engage in new product development and sustaining engineering programs


  • Leverages engineering analytical tools (e.g., tolerance, FEA, and CFD analyses) to facilitate product design. 


  • Mentors team members to prepare them for greater responsibility within the organization.


  • Ability to bring team members together and work problems to resolution


  • Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions


  • Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view


  • Ability to draft and release engineering standards


  • Demonstrated technical aptitude in engineering disciplines


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


  • Willingness and ability to travel 25-50% as necessary

  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
