The Need

After nearly two decades of continued growth and operational success in pioneering the work of protecting those who are experiencing poverty from violence, IJM has become an $80 million organization with 1000 global employees. As IJM continues this trajectory of growth and scaling of its impact, IJM is strengthening the Human Resources (HR) infrastructure from both a technical and business perspective.  

The Sr. Coordinator, HR Training’s primary responsibility will be to support the Workday HCM Global Expansion project and also support the training needs for IJM’s Global People Support (GPS) division. This role will be responsible for the HCM project training plan including all phases of curriculum creation and implementation, coordinating with business and technical experts globally throughout the project. In partnership with the Workday HCM project team, this position will update the Workday HCM training strategy for onboarding of new resources. This position will also work closely with the Workday Global Technology Solutions (GTS) team and the GPS team to understand and utilize policies, business requirements, business processes, and system configuration to develop training GPS materials.    

This position is based at IJM Headquarters in the Washington, DC area and reports directly to the Global Director, Human Resources.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop training strategies for all identified HCM end users globally, including Workday training and policy training;


  • Manage and keep the ongoing operations of IJM’s LMS fully functioning;


  • Manage processes for curriculum development and implementation in a timely and efficient manner;


  • Develop professionalized curriculum materials that can be used operationally after the project completes;


  • Engage with business partners and super users to validate training materials; 


  • Support external technical leads in the development and documentation of business process flows that will provide a foundation for training documentation; and


  • Provide support, guidance, and training to super users on the Workday HCM system so that they can own the operational aspects of the system and support their end users on operational transactions.


Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation


  • Create a Global Workday HR and Policy training strategy and plan to be shared with the GPS stakeholders;


  • Develop training materials to support the end-to-end testers and user acceptance testers;


  • Ensure training materials are accessible and understandable by a Global HR user (note:  this may require the support of a translator);


  • Assist in assessing the training effectiveness of the US HCM system and recommend solutions to address the gaps;


  • Document required compliance and policy training as new policies are defined; and


  • Utilize IJM’s LMS to manage GPS training offerings.


Networking & Partnership


  • Support project leads and business analyst to define and refine training requirements for the Workday HCM Global Expansion project;


  • Collaborate with the Workday GTS and GPS teams as well as external vendors to document and/or review process steps that will be utilized in training documents;


  • Provide excellent customer service to HR users by following up in a timely and effective manner;


  • Coordinate with any third party training that is identified; and


  • Collaborate with the GTS team to optimize the utilization and effectiveness of the LMS system.


Communication


  • Support change management and communication teams with related training strategies, plans, and materials;


  • Speak to the training strategy and plans to key stakeholders; and


  • Provide status updates to Workday HR Lead and core project team.


Training and Development


  • Identify, select and train the key stakeholders who may serve as trainers; and


  • Facilitate training to various levels of resources within the organization.


Documentation, Reporting & Data Management

  • Gather data and report on the participation and the effectiveness of training.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and certification;  


  • Three (3) or more years of professional work experience in teaching, training, curriculum development, or similar duties, providing complex material to diverse populations (e.g., varying education levels) with proven success of knowledge retention leading to behavior change;


  • Experience in developing training strategies and plans with Workday HCM or HRIS required;


  • Knowledgeable in developing HCM, Compensation, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Talent Management training;


  • Experience with adult learning theories;


  • Experience creating a variety of training materials including but not limited to videos, presentations, computer based trainings, and quick reference guides;


  • High proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel;


  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and business resources;


  • Ability to interact positively, professionally, and cross culturally in multiple time zones;


  • Highly creative and able to present innovative options with training;


  • Professional in demeanor, appearance, writing and oral communications; and


  • Fluency in English
