Job Requirements:
Work with Project Team to review project intent and flush out technical requirements.
Define ETL testing process and validate business rules and policies to data and transformations including all data pipelines on Hadoop Clusters monitoring data activities in TD Oracle HDFS Hive etc.
Cloud QA experience on AWS/Azure or GCP Cloud Data validation and automation experience.
Perform complex database work with minimum guidance such as design and develop new or enhance existing database schema, create stored procedure views for application or database system
Responsible for performance tuning and optimization of stored procedures and indexes
Mentor junior database dev for complex development or troubleshooting work
Advocate database standard and best practice and contribute ideas to enhance them
Support of Operations Team with data manipulation and adhoc reporting
Work with IT team and end users to help troubleshoot problems
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical database incidents
Afterhours support for application release and change management activities
Understand requirements, build codes, support testing and fix defects
Guide developers in the course of development activities in order to develop high standard stable codes within the limits of Cognizant and clients processes standards and guidelines
Project Planning and Setup
Understand the project scope, identify activities/tasks, estimates, schedule dependencies/risks and provide inputs to Module Lead for review
Provide inputs to testing strategy configuration deployment hardware/software requirement etc.
Review plan and provide feedback on gaps timeline and execution feasibility etc. as required in the project
Participate in KT sessions conducted by customer other business teams and provide feedback on requirements
Requirement Understanding and Analysis - Analyze functional/non-functional requirements and seek clarifications for better understanding of requirements
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field, (Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, Engineering, or related technical discipline), or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
Minimum 8 years’ experience with Oracle MS SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS
Should possess very good communication and client facing skills
Should be able to handle incidents tickets on a daily basis and track to closure within agreed SLAs
Should be able to thoroughly understand existing Applications, Processes, Reports
Should be able to effectively coordinate with offshore team and lead the offshore team
Should be able to drive daily calls and lead the Casualty Reporting offshore team
Should proactively contribute to improvements in current processes and explore any scope for innovation in existing system
Possessing prior experience/knowledge/certifications on Tableau Hive Spark Sqoop and Kafka is an additional advantage
Should track and report status by participating in organizational meeting for project status
