Reporting to the Manager of the Respiratory Therapy, the Respiratory Therapist will coordinate a fluid and cohesive work atmosphere in a department of skilled Respiratory Therapists and will act as a liaison between the Department Supervisor and the clinical staff in the department. Primary responsibilities include providing direct care to patients with breathing-related conditions and conducting diagnostic testing. The Respiratory Therapist is also responsible for developing policies and procedures, staffing, training, and maintaining compliance standards.

A Respiratory Therapist with this hospital will to manage life support mechanical ventilation systems and artificial airways, conduct Echo and Stress tests, and monitor equipment related to cardiopulmonary therapy. Qualifications for the Respiratory Therapist include the completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program as well as two to five years of Respiratory Therapy practice in the acute-care setting!
