Job Description:

Position Summary: The Superintendent provides technical and administrative supervision to employees, subordinate superintendents, and others as directed. This position performs general functions inherent in a supervisory position, schedules work to be performed, implements sound construction means and methods, and monitors progress and activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. Responsible for implementation of safety and security policies, procedures, and instructions for field/project operations.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise field/project operations and production.


• Provide technical and administrative supervision to employees, foremen and others as directed.


• Ensure operational activities are in compliance with specifications and are on schedule and within budget.


• Conduct and review performance evaluations of assigned staff.


• Determine and recommend appropriate project labor and equipment resources.


• Implement safety and security policies, procedures, and instructions for field/project operations.


• Ensure that projects are in compliance with state and federal codes, requirements, and standards.


• Prepare progress and expenditure forecasts, and other project operational reports as required.


• Coordinate field/project operational activities and provide technical input to project personnel and representatives of the client when instructed by the responsible manager.


• Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.


• Monitor labor relations.


• Monitor daily work practices to ensure compliance with established programs and applicable State and Federal regulations.


• Collaborate in developing and documenting project scope, work plans, budget, and overall schedule.


• Inform Project Manager of status, deviations, and recovery plans.


• Anticipate potential problem areas and analyze and recommend solutions or corrective actions.


• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant field supervision experience


• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of gas distribution systems, applicable regulations, and pertinent industry standards


• Must be willing to travel


• 2 years of experience in gas distribution systems

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
