Overview


The Healthcare Payer Policy Analyst is a staff consulting position within the Healthcare Transactions and Strategy (HTS) practice at BRG. HTS performs regulatory, reimbursement, and data analytics for health care investors, including surveys of health plan policies and strategies, including Commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid MCO plans. This position will require a highly motivated problem solver with a strong analytical ability, solid organizational skills, and a desire to solve client problems. The work of a Payer Analyst will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that will require primary research and existing expertise and experience to analyze health plan policies and strategies. Work requires strong analytical skills and communication skills.  This person will need to have prior experience working at a health plan/payer. Responsibilities include working with team to develop surveys and primary research approaches, expert analysis of healthcare payer policies and strategies, writing client deliverables and presentation of client deliverables.


 Responsibilities:



  • Produce analyses of trends and strategies in the healthcare payer/plan industry using primary research and personal expertise and experience.

  • Support and/or lead and manage client engagements.

  • Collaborate with diligence team to develop specifications for research and analysis, including e communication of obstacles or unexpected results as well as contingency.

  • Develop quality control procedures to ensure the highest level of accuracy within project deliverable.

  • Generate client deliverables including in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and other formats as applicable.

  • Delegate assignments to staff, instruct and monitor progress, and review work product for completeness.

  • Participate in group practice meetings, contribute to business development initiatives and office functions such as staff training.

  • Prioritize assignments and responsibilities to meet goals.

Basic Qualifications:



  • A BS/BA degree with a focus in healthcare policy or similar field;

  • Minimum six (6+) of work experience in the healthcare payer/plan industry including Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and/or Medicaid MCO plans;

  • Must demonstrate healthcare policy expertise and healthcare industry expertise;

  • Keen interest in healthcare policy and healthcare industry and research;

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills; and

  • Desire to work within a team
